Week 12 | Long Time Gone Sew-along | Half Square Triangles - block 3

This is it folks! The last HST block for the Long Time Gone Sew-along! Wahoo!! 

This is another that I made before the rest of the blocks and while I love it I'm not sure how well it works with all the rest of my blocks. For now though it stays, and I'll re-evaluate when they are all finished! So with that shall we get on with the tutorial?! 

Week 11 | Long Time Gone Sew-along | Half Square Triangles - block 2

We are back again this week with another HST block! This block is one of my favourites and I would love to make a whole quilt out of just this block and this colour palette!

So good! I actually made this block as soon as my pattern showed up! It was the first block I made from this pattern and I had planned on sticking mostly with this colour palette, until FreeSpirit sent me Anna Maria Horner's Mod Corsage line and the bundle of solids I picked out. Then I knew that I wanted to use a more vibrant colour palette! I think I've successfully accomplished that, haha! So this one may end up in the quilt, it may end up getting a couple more borders and being a pillow! We'll see!

Week 10 | Long Time Gone Sew-along | Half Square Triangles

Hello fellow Long Time Gone Sew-alongers!! It's hard to believe we've gone past the halfway mark.

Good work everyone!! We'll be finished in no time... let's all just pretend the pineapple blocks don't exist, haha!  You may want to try laying out all your blocks in their locations in the quilt (if you haven't already) and see how everything is balancing. You may need to add some more of a certain colour or maybe stop using a certain colour or in my case remake some of them! Today's block is, well, it's the block we all love to hate. Half Square Triangles. Such fantastic little blocks full of all kinds of potential for awesome, if someone else could just square them up!

I've gone a little Rainbow Brite with my block this week! It's been drab and rainy today (which explains my shoddy photos!) so I wanted a little bit of happy in my sewing room! Are we all ready to whip up some HST's?! Then let's go!

Week 9 | Long Time Gone Sew-along | Log Cabins

Hello, hello! Welcome back for another super easy block this week in the Long Time Gone Sew-along! And this time I kept it easy for myself and my sanity, last week was a touch on the crazy side, haha! Today we are taking on the super simple Log Cabin block!

Week 8 | Long Time Gone Sew-along | Courthouse Steps

Hello Long Time Gone sew-alongers!! I think I may have finally recovered from our Disney World vacation, though I'm still trying to get caught up on my backlogged projects! Luckily the Courthouse Steps blocks this week are super easy! Not that it stopped me from making things excessively difficult on my own, haha!

See what I mean! You couldn't just make some simple courthouse steps blocks could you Nicole?! You had to go all fancy on them didn't you?! Well of course I did! And it was well worth the hours and hours of work these three blocks took! Are you all ready to get your steps in?!
